FAQs

Approach

By design, my photographs have a defocused, blurry, and grainy appearance. While certain areas may exhibit tack-sharp clarity, I aim to evoke an otherworldly or dreamy vantage point in the majority of my work. It's essential to recognize that my approach is rooted in creating art rather than delivering a sharply focused document, and these deliberate treatments contribute to an intentional aesthetic in my work.

Black and White

For me, black and white photography is a transformative experience that strips away color, offering an alternate reality centered around light and shadow, form and space. Through deliberate lens selection and movement, I wish to guide your eyes to a specific part of the frame. I attempt to capture something beyond the visible spectrum of the human eye—perhaps a unique perspective on overlooked details that are easily passed by and often ignored.

(Yes, I do shoot color too.)

Cameras

While my primary camera is the Fujifilm GFX100 II, I also incorporate the Canon 1DX Mk III and 5D Mk II digital cameras into my photography toolkit. Additionally, I still find great joy in using my Mamyia RZ67 and the classic Linhof Technika III 4x5 film cameras. An interesting facet of my equipment includes a hybrid system that combines the GFX100 II with the Linhof, featuring a circa 1860s Petzval portrait lens affectionately named “The Time Machine.” This innovative setup offers a truly distinctive shooting experience, seamlessly bridging the aesthetic charm of a tintype with the practicality and freedom of a digital system.

Archival Prints

The emergence of digital printing grants me complete control over the final image I deliver to you or your gallery. Fine printmaking is meticulous, and the prints exhibit unparalleled detail, accuracy, and resolution. This technological advancement allows me to produce prints that perfectly match my vision for the final presentation.

Printmaking Process

All prints are created by Blazing Editions, which is one of the premier photographic printers in North America. Each archival print is meticulously created on a 60" state-of-the-art Canon imagePROGRAF Pro-6100 printer. I offer archival prints in Limited and Open editions, available on 290lb. Moab Entrada Bright White 100% Cotton Rag using Canon Ultrachrome Matte Black ink. These inks tout a remarkable lightfastness rating of 200 years. Every image is rendered at the highest possible resolution and widest color gamut.

Limited Edition Prints

My most iconic images are available as Limited Edition archival prints. These prints are part of limited edition sets comprising ten prints of any paper size. Each print will be signed and numbered on label verso, and you can choose from various size options listed on each photograph’s detail page. Once an edition sells out, the image will be removed from this site and no longer offered for purchase. Please note that the prices will increase as each print sells. Each print is numbered and signed on the back. Three additional “Artist Prints” will be allotted for each image.

Open Edition Prints

Photographs not included in the Limited Edition series may be purchased as Open Edition archival prints.

Framing

While not a core element of my offering, I do provide the option for your print to be professionally matted and framed to your specifications. If you wish to explore further, contact me directly, and we can collaboratively work through the details. Blazing Editions does a magnificent job and can be enlisted for this service if you're seeking a stellar resource. It's important to note that framing and shipping fees will be in addition to the cost of any print.

Shipping Your Order

I use FedEx and offer worldwide delivery, but shipping and handling fees are not included in the core price of a print. These additional costs will be calculated on a standard size and weight basis and added to the price of your print(s) at the end of your shopping experience on this site.

All prints are carefully packed for safe delivery within a heavy-duty cardboard shipping tube. Inside, each print surface is covered with craft paper and wrapped around a second inner cardboard tube.

Please allow two to four weeks for delivery. Prior to delivery, you will receive an email notification containing your FedEx tracking number and estimated delivery date.

Satisfaction Guarantee

The images on this website may not fully represent an art print's details and tonal values. However, I’m confident you will be satisfied with the quality and condition of the printed images I deliver. If you aren't happy with your print, you can return it within seven days for a full refund less shipping cost.
